WHO IS THIS GUY?

Who am I? I’m a no nonsense hardworking satire loving kinda guy who happens enjoy the act of capturing life’s fleeting moments in a range of frames per second. I refuse to let industry norms reduce me to a single skill.

Yes I can take photos
Yes I can pull focus
And maybe I can even light your scene
But I do love running with a Steadicam the most

Every Steadicam Operator has an interesting ‘Origin’ Story. No, I’m not Batman! For me, I realized 10 years ago in film school that I wanted to acquire the highest skill of camera operation. I was captivated by the sense of space, intuition, composition, physicality and technical knowledge required to be a successful Steadicam Operator.

Of course the journey of buying a Steadicam, the steep learning curve of understanding the electronics and physics of balancing/setting up a Steadicam was extremely daunting. In that journey I made many mistakes, like buying a faulty second hand rig, dropping the rig at home while practicing, and eventually building the courage to take it out on set! But hey, every mistake brings huge learning gains.

With Steadicam, you can always do better. ‘Shall we go for another take?’' , to that my answer is always YES. Until my glycogen stores are depleted. Ha. For every Steadicam Operator, the shot can always be better and we are never satisfied. The director has to tell me when they are happy.

I am always willing to push my limits to get what the shot needed while keeping the creative integrity. It is easy for technical crew to sometimes forget that we are creating a form of art.

I shall spare you with my life details and believe me I have had to hold back my fans from setting up my Wikipedia page. So for my formal CV please click HERE.

Thank you for your time and I hope to see you on set!
